Avg can really block the virus coming from lime wire files . see that u update avg weekly once and dont download the zip file from limewire coz zip files of limewire are really affected by the viruses. u can use lime wire pro to be on the better side

Yes, AVG is just as good if not better than any of the antvirus programs on the market. The key to safely downloading from limewire is not going to be just running your anti-virus but also having an anti-malware removal tool as well such as ewido. Which can be downloaded from www.ewido.net I recommend running both of those after you finish your downloading session for the day on limewire or any file sharing programs. The main risk with those is when you are downloading movies or pictures. Music you are usually in the safe zone. Good Luck!
There really isn't much viruses on Limewire, you jus thave to be careful with what you are downloading... I use AVG and in the rare instance where there has been a virus in a file it detects them.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
